This document includes last minute information on NOAH System 3.5.2 SE.
IMPORTANT: Version 3.5.2 SE only contains improvements to the software installation. If you already have NOAH System version 3.5.2 installed, there is no reason to upgrade to version 3.5.2 SE. You should, however, make sure that you have installed the latest patch for 3.5.2 from our website. You can see which version of NOAH System you have installed in the About NOAH dialog (Choose About NOAH under the Help menu).
IMPORTANT: Do NOT uninstall the software before updating. Simply install version 3.5.2 SE over your current version. If you uninstall first, your license file will be deleted and you need to reinstall your license key in order to use the software.
IMPORTANT: NOAH System version 3.5.2 SE server version will not install on a PC with a Microsoft Windows 98 or Me operating systems.
Installation Improvements in 3.5.2 SE
NOAH System 3.5.2 SE gives the user the option to backup and compact all local database profiles before upgrading the NOAH installation (CQ3125)
NOAH System 3.5.2 SE will detect any existing NOAH System installation on the computer, and helps the user to select the best action (upgrade or new installation). (CQ3124)
NOAH System 3.5.2 SE gives the user the option to upgrade all local database profiles.
NOAH System 3.5.2 SE gives the user a warning if any NOAH System specific processes are running.
NOAH System 3.5.2 SE fixes a bug where the NOAH System 3.5.2 installation would overwrite profile #1 during an installation.
NOAH System 3.5.2 SE will inform the end-user to upgrade the other database (server(s)) if more than one DB-profile is detected. (CQ3126)
New Features for 3.5.2 and 3.5.2 SE
eTONA
- eTONA (Electronic Transfer of NOAH Actions) assists you in sending electronic orders, repair or return requests through NOAH System 3 to manufacturers. In order to use eTONA's functionality, you will need to install product order modules from your hearing instrument manufacturers into NOAH System. You can then use their order forms when submitting electronic orders. Check with your manufacturer to discover if eTONA functionality is supported at your location.
NOAH Questionnaire
- Use the NOAH Questionnaire module to select, enter data into, edit and save a questionnaire. In addition, you can print out your questionnaire with, or without, client data and responses.
The NOAH Questionnaire module is part of the NOAH framework environment. Thus, the questionnaires that you create are saved as part of your client's record, making it easy to retrieve your questionnaires at a later date.
HIPAA (Health Information Portability and Availability Act)
- NOAH System 3 is now HIPAA compliant.
- IMPORTANT: From the perspective of NOAH System 3, HIPAA security requirements state that an end user must have tools available to them to accomplish the goals of the security mandates. It is important to note that simply having these tools within a software program like NOAH System 3 does not automatically make a practice compliant with the HIPAA security rules. The hearing care professional is responsible for the correct implementation of the tools.

General:
Russian, Polish, Chinese and Hungarian versions of NOAH System are now available.
NOAH System installation now offers an option to place an icon on the desktop (1355)

Export/Import Issues:
- A client from NOAH 2 with a journal entry no longer creates a session with the current date for the journal action (1514)

Printing Issues:
- NOAH System no longer crashes when re-opening NOAHaud after printing the extended report (2679)
- It is no longer possible for a Level 2 user to print an extended report (2916)
NOAHaud The following improvements have been made to NOAHaud:
Aurical modules no longer crash when saving data (2925)
Japanese version: Terms no longer appear at right-angles in NOAHaud (2148)
Japanese version: Invalid characters no longer appear under 'Edit test properties' in NOAHaud (2817)
Dutch version: Masking Speech SV symbols are no longer switched (2412)
