In the event that the given security tools are not implemented correctly due to human or technical error it is important that an appropriate employee be able to review a log file that clearly documents all activity. Reviewing this log file may prove/disprove inappropriate access and corrective actions can be taken.
This audit control feature is implemented as a log file, which is encrypted, so that only Noah users (who have correct user rights) can view the file.
In Noah System 4, this feature is located in the Noah Console. In NOAH System 3 (shown below), this file can be opened via the NOAH System menu (Tools > Activity Log File). To enable activity logging, check the box in the lower left corner of the screen.

The log file can also be exported and viewed in any text editor such as Windows Notepad (as below).

Additional notes about the log file:
- The log file is centralized. In a networked installation the log file will be placed on the same computer as the Noah server.
- The log file is viewable from any Noah client or Noah non-networked installation.
- By default the log file viewer shows the most recently created log file.
- The log file can only be started from Noah.
- The user can sort the columns in ascending and descending order.
- The user may turn the logging feature on or off. By default the logging feature will be turned off. This on/off switch appears as a tool bar icon as well as being accessible through the menu system.
