Definition
Profiles are sets of NOAHaud configuration options. By selecting a particular profile, NOAHaud will appear with pre-defined tests and test layouts, including specified panels and panel appearances. Multiple profiles may be saved. Profiles may be exported and imported.
Difference between profiles and global options
Global options determine the tests that are available in NOAHaud, and are used to create profiles. Only one set of global options is available. Refer to Global options under Related Links to the right of this page.
NOTE: Select from among your created profiles by using the pull-down menu - - in NOAHaud's upper left-hand corner.If you regularly change configuration options when working with specific client types, use a separate profile for each type. For example, create a profile called Pediatric, configured for use with young clients. |
Creating profiles
NOTE: A new profile is based on the currently selected profile. If other profiles have already been defined, select the one on which you wish to base the new profile. |
- In NOAHaud, click Tools > Profile Manager.
- Click New. A new profile appears highlighted.
- Enter the name of the new profile. Press Return.
- Click Edit. The Profile Options window (with the name of the profile in parentheses) opens.
- Pure Tone and Speech tabs:
- Test Palette - this shows the tests available in NOAHaud (NOTE: In the Speech tab, if you intend to use graphs, first select the Speech Graph Mode option at Graph Layout.):
- Click Palette Options.
- To add a test, select a test on the left hand side, then click Add.
- To remove a test, select a test on the right-hand side, then click Remove.
- To change the symbols, lines or colors of a test, select a test, then click More. To define a symbol, double-click on a symbol, then select a new symbol. To select a line style, use the pull-down menus. To select a color, double-click on the color field. Click OK.
- Graph Layout (NOTE: In the Speech tab, if you intend to use graphs, select Speech Graph Mode.):
- Click Graph Options.
- Pure Tone tab: Check or uncheck options as required. If you select an Underlay Template, in NOAHaud you can click View > Show/Hide Underlays to view or hide these options. If you select Severity of Loss, click Configure Severity to select the types and the dB ranges to view.
- Speech Tab: If you select Speech Graph Mode, click Graph Options, then check or uncheck options as required.
- Test Data Table:
- Check Show Test Data Table to view the data table in NOAHaud.
- Pure Tone Tab: Click Test Data Options. Check Stimulus and Masking to graph points by entering values directly into the table. Check Test Conditions to view test condition comments about the transducer or test conditions.
- Pure Tone Average: Check Show Pure Tone Average to view the Pure Tone Average panel in NOAHaud. Refer to Pure tone average under Related Links to the right of this page for details on its calculation.
- Notes: Check Show Pure Tone Notes (or Show Speech Notes) to view the Notes panel in NOAHaud. Click Notes Options to select the fields to appear. To change a user-defined field, select the field, click Customize, and enter a new name (Note: Make sure to check whether your entry fits on a test printout as there are limits to the number of characters permitted). Click OK.
- Impedance tab:
- Contralateral Reflexes: Check Show Contralateral Acoustic Reflexes Panel to view the contralateral reflexes table in NOAHaud. Click 'Options' to select the frequencies to appear in the table - BBN = Broad Band Noise, LBN = Low Band Noise, HBN = High Band Noise.
- Ipsilateral Acoustic Reflexes: Check Show Ipsilateral Acoustic Reflexes Panel to view the ipsilateral reflexes table in NOAHaud. Click Options to select the frequencies to appear in the table - BBN = Broad Band Noise, LBN = Low Band Noise, HBN = High Band Noise.
- Tympanometry: Check Show Tympanogram Panel to view the tympanogram panel in NOAHaud. Click Options to select pressure, volume and gradient options. Refer to Impedance tests under Related Links to the right of this page.
- Notes: Check Show Impedance Notes to view the Notes panel in NOAHaud. Click Notes Options to select the fields to appear. To change a User Defined field, select the field, click Customize, enter a new name (Note: Make sure to check whether your entry fits on a test printout as there are limits to the number of characters permitted). Click OK.
Click OK to save your changes.
NOTE: All saved audiograms will re-open with the default profile. To view the audiogram with a different profile, select this from the pull-down menu (upper left-hand corner - ). |
Editing profiles
To select a profile in NOAHaud, use the pull-down menu at the upper left-hand corner -

- to select from the available profiles. NOAHaud changes its configuration options according to the settings saved in the profile.
To change profile settings, click Tools > Profile Manager.
Select a profile:
Editing: Click Edit. Then refer to steps 5 through 7 above.
Renaming: Click More > Rename. Enter the new name. Then press Return.
Setting as Default: To specify that NOAHaud always starts using the selected profile, click More > Set As Default. The word default will appear after the default profile.
Duplicating: Click More > Duplicate. The duplicate profile will be called copy of.....
Deleting: Click More > Delete. (Note: The Standard profile CANNOT be deleted.)
