A - Distinctive peak in the vicinity of atmospheric pressure.
A(s) - Type A tympanogram with shallow peak.
A(d) - Type A tympanogram with very high peak.
B - Flat across pressure range.
C - Negative pressure peaks below 100 daPa (mmH2o).
Peak pressure: The X-value corresponding to the maximum Y-value, as depicted on the tympanogram (1 in diagram). Synonym: Point of Maximum Compliance Ear canal volume: The physical space between the tip of the probe and the tympanic membrane. Synonym: Physical Volume Static compliance: A calculated value, equal to the Ear Canal Volume minus the Peak Height. Synonym: Static Admittance Peak height: The maximum Y-value, as depicted on the tympanogram (2 in diagram at Peak Pressure). Synonym: Peak Amplitude, Peak Compliance, Maximum Compliance Gradient: The result of a calculation, using one of the following: Formula A: Expressed as a pressure. Equals the width of the tympanogram curve corresponding to the Y-value equal to half the Peak Height. Synonym: Tympanometric Width Formula B: Expressed as a volume. Equals the distance between the Peak Height and the Y-value where the width of the tympanogram curve is 100 daPa.
