Tip: With NOAH System 3.6.1, not only has networking speed and stability greatly improved, NOAH 3.6.1 also has more flexible networking installation requirements. In NOAH System 3.5.2 and earlier, all PC's running NOAH needed to be in the same domain or workgroup and also in the same IP range. NOAH System 3.6.1 on the other hand can communicate between different domains or between a workgroup and a domain. This network setup may be encountered for instance in a hospital setting where the servers are in one domain and workstations in another. Networking NOAH 3 has never been easier!

• NOAH is supported in a wired Local Area Network (LAN)
• TCP IP protocol installed
• In NOAH System 3.5.2 an earlier, all PC's running NOAH need to be in the same Domain or Workgroup
• All PC's using NOAH need to be in the same IP range and subnet
• Name resolution working
• File and print sharing enabled
• On Windows Vista, Network Discovery needs to be turned ON.
• The NOAH database needs to be located on the same machine as the NOAH server installation
• The NOAH server does not need to be installed on a server operating system. However, when the server is responsible for many other services such as, mail, DNS, WINS, DHCP and/or SMTP, the performance of NOAH System versions may suffer. In these situations, HIMSA recommends installing NOAH server on a dedicated machine for best performance.
• With NOAH 3.6, NOAH has the ability to work with Microsoft SQL Server. If a location is using this database, the NOAH server application also has to reside with the database.
• Networks with more than 10 client installations require a server operating system.
