Windows Firewall blocking the NOAH System services

After installation of Windows security updates, NOAH System displays an error message: “Could not connect to selected NOAH database….”

Cause:

File- and print sharing or any of the NOAH System processes has been disabled in the Windows Firewall.

Solution:

Open the Windows Firewall and check that the File- and Printer sharing as well as the NOAH processes are enabled as shown in picture below. (If eTONA is in use, the NOAH transaction browser should be added and enabled as well).

NOAH System 3.6.1 or 3.7 server- & client installation on the same machine:

Note! It is not a solution to turn off the Windows Firewall since parts of it will still be running in the background and continue to block processes or a service that has been disabled.
