Description
Norton Antivirus 2005 and 2006 installs by default a feature called Internet Worm Protection. This software blocks the protocol that is needed for NOAH to be able to communicate across a network. After installing the Norton software, the following message appears:
The office server could not set or initialize current user/client.
Solution
- Open the Norton 2005/2006 on the PC acting as your NOAH server and select Options.

- Then, select Internet Worm Protection from the left-hand column and then click on the General Rules button.

- In the window that appears, double-click on Default Block Microsoft Windows 2000 SMB.

- In the Modify Rule window, select Permit: Allow connections to match this rule.

- On the Modify Rule window, select the Communications tab. Click next to the Only the types of communication ports listed below selection and then click Add.

- On the Specify Ports window, check the box next to Port 135. Then click OK and then OK again.

- Close Norton Antivirus.
- Test the changes by trying to login to NOAH.
