What about Windows Vista?

Microsoft released Windows Vista in January 2007. 

NOAH System 3.6.1 is supported on Windows Vista (32-bit versions) including: Vista Home Basic, Vista Home Premium, Vista Business, Vista Enterprise, and Vista Ultimate.

HIMSA is offering certification for NOAH 3 modules on Microsoft Vista as well. Check the module certification site for a listing of fitting and measurement modules that support Windows Vista. If you use modules that have not been certified for Vista, please check with the manufacturer for advice.

What about 64-bit operating systems?

Why not Windows XP Home or Windows Media Center?

IMPORTANT: If a sales representative tells you that Windows Media Center or XP Home will work with NOAH System, do NOT believe it.

While these operating systems are very appropriate for the majority of home users, business owners should be running Windows XP Professional (32-bit version) in order to take advantage of its enhanced network, security and stability features. Since your hearing care practice is a business, it is logical to have an operating system designed for that purpose.

HIMSA has decided to certify and test using the Windows XP Professional version. Since all certification and functionality statements for NOAH 3, as well as fitting and measurement modules, will be made for Windows XP Professional, it is in your best interest to use XP Professional on your NOAH System 3 computer.

What about Windows 98/Me?

IMPORTANT: NOAH System version 3.5.2, Server version, will not install on a PC with a Microsoft Windows 98/Me operating system. NOAH System 3.6, to be released early 2007, will not support Windows 98 or ME.

NOAH System 3.5.2 client and non-network versions are compatible with Windows 98 (SE) and Windows ME. However, these operating systems are meant for home use, and may result in poorer performance and errors during NOAH System operation.

What about Windows NT?

Windows NT is a very old operating system that is no longer supported by either Microsoft or by HIMSA. Tests have shown that NOAH System 3.1.2 and later cannot successfully install on Windows NT.

If you currently have Windows NT on your NOAH computer, it is important that you upgrade your operating system to a newer Windows version in order to ensure compatibility with future updates to NOAH System and to NOAH 3 fitting and measurement software modules.
