When adding a new client record in NOAH 3.6.1 a message is returned:

Please enter another client number. The number that you entered is NOT unique.

This issue occurs if your NOAH database contains client records that have been assigned both manual client numbers containing alphanumeric text and automatically generated client numbers - for example, ABC123.

Solution

1. In Windows click Start > All Programs > NOAH System > NOAH Console. Open the Configuration tab.
2. Select Manual and click Apply. You will be prompted for a NOAH Login. Enter an administrator user name and password and click OK. Close NOAH Console. You will now be able to use manual client numbering.
3. NOTE: If you switch to automatic numbering in the future please be aware that this will permanently renumber your alphanumeric client numbers to automatically generated numbers.
