Backup fails due to lack of hard disk space

When running a compact or a backup on the NOAH database, a backup file of the database is automatically created for security reasons. We advise users to, once in a while, delete old backup files and backup log files to free up space on the hard disk.

The backup files will be located in the following path: C:\Program Files\HIMSA\Noah Database Tools\Backup.

The following is an example of backup files in a NOAH System 3 installation:

A common error message when the automatic backup fails when not having enough hard disk space is the following error message:

When running a manual backup the following error message will be displayed:

The backup log file will refer to the NoahDatabaseTool.log which is located in the following path: C:\Program Files\HIMSA\Noah Database Tools. The log includes the information below:

 

Solution

Delete old Backup files.
