IMPORTANT: HIMSA does not support the XP HOME operating system for use with NOAH System. By not supporting XP HOME, the most important aspect to consider is that HIMSA DOES NOT perform installation/upgrade or reliability testing. We therefore strongly recommend that you update your computer operating system to a supported
Microsoft operating system.
Temporary SolutionOur investigations have determined the following temporary solution to install version 3.6.1 on a XP HOME operating system. However, this solution is a short term workaround only, until you have the opportunity to switch to a supported operating system.
IMPORTANT: The solution below has not been tested for reliable day-to-day use. The performance and reliability of NOAH System 3.6.1 on Windows XP HOME should not be trusted for longer term use.
- Make sure that version 3.6.1 has already been installed on your NOAH network server.
- Run the Non-networked installation of 3.6.1 on your client PC.
- After the installation is complete, start NOAH. Choose Options under the Tools menu. Then click on the Database Profiles tab.

- Click on the New button to create a new database profile. Enter a name for the profile, then browse to the NOAH database on your NOAH network server.

- Restart NOAH. Choose the server profile from the login screen and click on the OK button. Your NOAH 3.6.1 network client should now be connected to your NOAH Server.
