Could not connect to the Selected NOAH database
Cause

You are upgrading to NOAH System 3.6.1 from a previous version of NOAH System but your NOAH Server is now located on a different computer.

NOTE: The NOAH Upgrader does not allow you to change the path to a new server during the install. To prevent this problem, you can uninstall NOAH Client from Add Remove Programs before you start the upgrade to NOAH 3.6.1. Then you will be able to path to the new server during the NOAH 3.61 Client installation.

Solution

If you receive the above message, you can point to the new server by following the steps below:

  1. Click OK on the message below.

  2. When asked to create a new profile select Yes.

  3. Name the New Profile and then browse out to your server computer.  Do not type in the name of the server (e.g. \\ServerName) but rather use the Path button located to the right of the Server Name field.Click OK.

  4. After creating the Profile, click Cancel on the NOAH Log in screen and reboot the PC.

  5. Launch NOAH and select the new Database Profile. Click OK to log in.

  6. A computer reboot is necessary in order for NOAH to use the new profile.  If a reboot is not done you will receive and office server error:
