To remove Noah 4 and return to using NOAH 3, follow these steps:
- Determine if data is required from Noah 4. If so, export patient records from Noah 4: Choose the NHA file format - NHAX will not import into NOAH 3. NHA is selected as you are saving the file.
- Navigate to C:\Program Files\HIMSA.
- Copy the Modules directory to your desktop.
- Check the C:\Program Files\HIMSA\NOAH System directory for a folder called HIMSA. If it is there, copy it to your desktop. (NOTE: This HIMSA directory may not exist. It would have been created by an older version of NOAH.)
- Next go to Add/Remove Programs and remove the Noah 4 Journal Module.
- Remove Noah 4 from Add/Remove Programs.
- Navigate to C:\Program Files\Common Files\HIMSA Shared.
- Select and delete everything in this directory except the NOAH.lf file and the NOAHlink directory. (NOTE: This step will delete the Noah 4 database file.) NOTE: If you are not a NOAHlink user you will not have the NOAHlink directory under HIMSA Shared.
- Next go the the registry.
- Navigate to the Registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HIMSA.
* On a 64-bit computer the registry key for Software\HIMSA is located in the WOW6432Node - Delete everything under HIMSA except the following entry: NOAH\Version 3.0\Modules. The only entry left under the HIMSA key once you have deleted everything else will be NOAH\Version3.0\Modules.
- Now reinstall the NOAH 3 version previously on the machine, either NOAH 3.6.1 or NOAH 3.7.
- Once yo have NOAH 3.6.1/3.7 installed, navigate to the Modules directory at C:\Program Files\HIMSA. Delete the Modules directory.
- Next copy the Modules directory from the desktop (see Step 3) to C:\Program Files\HIMSA.
- If you did not have a HIMSA folder under C:\Program Files\HIMSA\NOAH System (see Step 4) copy it from the desktop and paste it into the following directory - C:\Program Files\HIMSA\NOAH System.
- At this point launch NOAH System 3. The user name on the login screen will be blank. Use ABC without a password or your own custom NOAH user created previously in NOAH 3.
The patient data present when you open NOAH 3 will be dated from when you upgraded to Noah 4. To create an updated database, including all patient data created in Noah 4, use NOAH Database Properties to first Backup and then Replace the NOAH 3 database. Next launch NOAH 3 and import the nha file created from Noah 4.
