At the AudiologyNOW! show in Phoenix, HIMSA introduced support for a major new technology, Noah Mobile.
In this article we will answer several questions from hearing care professionals who visited us at the HIMSA booth.
What is Noah Mobile?
Simply put, Noah Mobile allows hearing care professionals to work with their Noah data on a tablet PC or a browser-based application.
Does Noah Mobile install Noah on a tablet?
No, your Noah software and Noah data will remain on your PC.
However, Noah Mobile will allow you to access patient records from your Noah database using tablet and browser-based apps from HIMSA member companies.
Does Noah Mobile make it possible to connect Noah PCs at my remote offices to my central office?
No, Noah Mobile provides new possibilities for connecting individual apps to the Noah database.
To provide networking connectivity for Windows computers at remote offices, please see our WAN support statement
What Noah Mobile apps are available today?
In last month’s newsletter
, we announced that the first Noah Mobile app, a browser-based audiometer from Audyx, has been certified.
Several Noah Mobile apps from other manufacturers are currently under development and should be available by the end of the year.
As additional apps become certified, they will be listed on our website
What kind of apps will be available in the future?
Noah Mobile’s approach provides a great deal of flexibility, allowing our member companies to create a variety of apps never envisioned before. Here are just a few of the possible applications:
Will my patient data be secure?
Measurement equipment/systems that can connect to Noah without the need for a separate PC
- Integration with a product order website (e.g. gather needed information for the order, such as the patient’s audiogram)
- Apps that allow a patient to fill out an admission form or questionniare electronically and automatically save the data to the Noah patient record
Apps to program hearing instruments or support the patient product experience, both while in the office and during off-site visits.
Yes. With Noah Mobile, you have full control over which apps access your patient data.
Noah Mobile uses the latest security standards and regulations to ensure safe transport of your patient data between your Noah PC and the remote Noah Mobile application. And Noah Mobile does not store any of your patient data in the Cloud.
If I do not enable Noah Mobile will access to my database via apps be possible?
No, apps cannot access your data unless Noah Mobile is enabled. Furthermore, you also have the ability to enable Noah Mobile so that apps can access data only while they are within your office.
How do I install Noah Mobile?
Noah Mobile is installed automatically with Noah System 4.5.1 and above. All you need to do is enable it in the Noah Setup menu and you are ready to go.
