Protecting patient data is a high priority for hearing care professionals and for HIMSA.
In Noah System 4.9, HIMSA will provide database encryption for the Noah System database to make it much more difficult for malicious code or unauthorized persons to gain access to patient data. Encryption makes patient information unreadable by anything but Noah System.
By default, database encryption in Noah will be available but disabled. Businesses that want to have their ‘data at rest’ encrypted, have the option to enable encryption, but locations that want to explore if the option is right for them, have the chance to investigate.

In Noah System 4.9, HIMSA has also added a feature that assists in the secure transfer of a Noah System patient record from one hearing care business to another. Noah System offers the option to encrypt and password protect the exported patient data so that another Noah System installation can import the data.

Noah System 4.9 is scheduled to be released within the next two months.
