June 2018 – The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies to businesses providing services in the European Union.  Even though this applies to Europe, the GDPR seems to make the worldwide news.

Many hearing care professionals are contacting HIMSA for information and advice on how the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) affects their patient data in the Noah database. Common questions are:

  • Does Noah System require an Internet connection to access patient data?
  • Do I need to fill out a Data Processing Agreement to continue to use Noah?

To answer these questions and more, HIMSA has put together a page of information specifically on patient data security and GDPR. This page should help you answer the more common questions on how Noah stores your patient data, as part of your business’ patient data security strategy.

And for additional information on keeping patient data in your Noah database secure, please refer to the Security section in the Noah Learning Center.
