If you are using a NOAHlink that has kernel version 1.42Beta or above, you can enter PIN code 1234 to connect the NOAHlink.
If this pin code does not work, this means that you are using a NOAHlink with an old kernel version and cannot simply enter a password. In this case, you must set up NOAHlink to connect without requiring a password. The following describes how to perform this task:
1. On the desktop, double-click on My Bluetooth Places.
2. From the Bluetooth dropdown menu on the toolbar, select Advanced Configuration. When the configuration window opens, click on the Local Services tab, highlight the Bluetooth serial port, click Properties, and clear the check box next to Secure Connection. Then click OK.

3. Next click on the Client Applications tab and choose Bluetooth Serial Port, click Properties and clear the check box next to Secure Connection. Then click OK, and click OK again.
4. From the Bluetooth dropdown menu on the toolbar, select Search for Devices. When the search is finished, your NOAHlink device should appear in the device list.
5. Double click the NOAHlink device. After a short time, a service named COMx (where x is any number below 10) should be listed with the status Not Connected.
6. Double click the icon. After a few seconds, the status changes to Connected. If a COMx window appears, click OK.
7. Double click the icon again. After a few seconds, the status changes to Not Connected. If a Bluetooth Connection Status window appears, click Close.
8. Open NOAHlink Properties from the Start menu, and click on Search. When your NOAHlink appears, click on Connect.
9. When the status changes to Connected, click on the Settings tab and be sure the correct battery type is selected (rechargeable vs. alkaline).
10. Click on Advanced, then open the Versions tab.
11. Click on Upgrade Kernel. Click Download kernel. A message will appear, indicating that the upgrade was successful.
12. Click Cancel, then OK and OK again.
