February 2020 – Many PC users live by the old adage “If it’s not broke, don’t fix it”.

However, when you are dealing with enterprise software, waiting until it breaks can be a costly and disruptive experience for your business.

HIMSA therefore suggests that you periodically set aside the time to keep your PCs and software up-to-date, even though the version you have installed seems to be running fine. Using the time now will save you more time in the long run.

Which Noah Version are you running?

To see which Noah version you are currently running, open Noah and choose About Noah from the Help menu.

If you are running Noah version 4.7 or later on a Windows 10 PC, then now is the easiest time to upgrade using the latest Noah download from the HIMSA website.

Still using Windows 7?

As mentioned in last month’s newsletter article, Microsoft has ended support for Windows 7 in January. Microsoft states:

“While you could continue to use your PC running Windows 7, without continued software and security updates, it will be at greater risk for viruses and malware. Going forward, the best way for you to stay secure is on Windows 10. And the best way to experience Windows 10 is on a new PC. While it is possible to install Windows 10 on your older device, it is not recommended.”

For these reasons, if you are currently running Noah version 4.7 or later on a Windows 7 PC, HIMSA strongly recommends that you take Microsoft’s advice and move your Noah to a new PC with Windows 10.

Still using Noah 4.7 and earlier?

HIMSA’s recommendation is to upgrade to a Noah version that was tested for that Noah release. This may mean that for unsupported Noah versions, you will need to update Noah in steps.

This month’s support corner article provides guidelines on how best to upgrade unsupported versions of Noah.
