November 2019 – Tele-health and its challenges have been a major theme of trade shows in 2018 and the HIMSA booth at EUHA was no exception.
Visitors to the HIMSA booth in Hannover had questions on the future of remote hearing care and on Noah Mobile functionality in particular. However, many professionals also were concerned about the challenges of protecting their patient data, especially when communicating over the Internet.
The good news is that HIMSA is already preparing for the challenges and benefits of tele-health care.
With the Noah 4.9, we introduced several tools for improved data security based on the latest technology. For hearing care professionals, these tools are a necessary foundation to help them ensure patient data security.
And HIMSA’s work will continue in 2019, when we will update Noah networking technology to handle the demands for improved network performance, security and stability.
In early 2019, HIMSA will release Noah System 4.10, where the main task is to replace the current networking infrastructure based on .Net Remoting.
By replacing Noah networking technology with a REST based method, Noah will have more stable and robust network communication over both local (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN). This means more reliable communication with remote offices, especially those with less stable networks.
HIMSA is also working closely with our member companies on the best way to integrate tele-health data into the Noah software. The goal is to create a flexible and secure solution that can quickly evolve to meet changing needs and technologies.
The resulting features should be introduced by the end of 2019.
